Small Pinched Dish

Small Pinched Dish

£30.00

This elegant and useful small bowl is made by pinching the clay between the fingers to leave an impression of the finger tips. Rustic, yet sophisticated, the edges are left uneven and frayed, indicative of how it was made. Perfect for dips, small bites and petit fours, this dish also makes a great home accessory for holding soap, earrings, rings or candles.

This handcrafted collection of one-off pieces are all made from clay remnants from other makes. While some offcuts can be recycled back into slip, we wanted to find a way to be truly sustainable with those we had left.

This range started life as hand built demonstration pieces for pottery classes, but they were then spotted by Great British Menu winner Kirk Haworth of Plates London, as the 'perfect canvas for his food'.

I love the sustainability of this Crafted collection and how you can see the fingerprints of the maker in each piece. There is a direct connection between the material and the things it holds, with each piece being truly unique.

Made with a mixture of recycled white clay.

Each piece varies in size and shape as they are individual and hand formed, frayed fissured edges are part of the pieces and encouraged.
