Hand Formed Bowl
Hand Formed Bowl
A 15cm bowl, created by pressing and drawing my fingers into soft recycled clay, supported in a mould. Full of character and charm from the fingerprint impressions being left in the finished surface. Perfect for a side salad, rice or pasta or a deep dessert or cereal bowl.
This handcrafted collection of one-off pieces are all made from clay remnants from other makes. While some offcuts can be recycled back into slip, we wanted to find a way to be truly sustainable with those we had left.
This range started life as hand built demonstration pieces for pottery classes, but they were then spotted by Great British Menu winner Kirk Haworth of Plates London, as the 'perfect canvas for his food'.
I love the sustainability of this Crafted collection and how you can see the fingerprints left by the maker in each piece. There is a direct connection between the maker and the material, with each piece being truly unique.
Made with a mixture of recycled white clay.
Each piece varies in size and shape as they are individual and hand formed, frayed fissured edges are part of the pieces and encouraged.
