Autumn collection launch - behind the scenes.
We’ve been really busy over the last few weeks making some new shapes and introducing new colours to the range. We are excited to launch them as our Autumn Collection. Here’s a look behind the scenes about how it all came together, from the making process to the photoshoot.
We always enjoy photo shoot days, it’s a chance to be really creative with props and styling - even a bit of baking is required! We have worked with acclaimed photographer Yeshen for years, he understands what we want to achieve and has a real gift for getting the best shot of each product. The new studio gave us plenty of light and space to work in.
Our new 45cm centrepiece bowl is a statement piece. It’s the largest piece we have ever cast and requires some strong arms to pour the slip into the mould. It takes 25 litres of slip to fill, casting and pouring is a three woman operation.
It’s a really effective way to add a seasonal look to a photograph by adding decorations such as this autumn wreath. Being based in a rural location, foraging for materials is easily done. We are always on the lookout for natural materials, and love to use them in our showroom too.
It was great fun styling our new Cake Stand but it wasn’t without drama - one of the team had made a rich chocolate brownie cake the night before the photo-shoot and left it to cool. However, there was a very early morning panic and scramble to make a replacement due to two very naughty dogs who fancied a midnight snack! It was a big relief when the dogs weren’t ill and the replacement chocolate cake was a success!
